I read on the forum someone mentioning her and was curious for more information if anyone can provide me some. I think it was also said she had ten tails somewhere? I've been reading too many threads to reference them x"D:

Also, does anyone personally know or recognize kitsune specific deities, as in deities just for us or foxes even? *curious~ curious~*

Edit: I seen someone refer to Inari as our Mother. Do you agree with this? Is this the typically believed convention or does anyone have a different one they would care to share~?

When referring to me, feel free to shorten my name to "Val". It gives off a sense of a certain casualness indicating closeness and a warm fuzzy blanket of familiarity envelops me.

Ps. It's not "Valerie". No "i" please. If you add an "i" I get a strong urge to stab you in the left eye, rip it out completely then play with it. If you do not have a left eye, I can settle for the right one.

I've heard this as well... I feel that way myself but hell I don't know if she really is and I kind of doubt it :P kind of like calling the Christian God 'Father' to me. I feel love for her as if She were my mother and I believe She loves me as if I were her child.

I haven't asked any questions on how souls are initially created... but if the spark of a soul at the dawn of it's first life comes from a source other than the creature which gives birth to it, I would say that most likely Inari created, or at least contributed to, that spark.

I've heard rumors of a ten tailed or even a thousand tailed kitsune that is said to be the deity of our kin. I have never found direct lore or stories anywhere to state this.

As for Inari, she is our patron Deity/Kami. It's funny that Shinto priest will hurt themselves if anyone mentions Inari is a fox. What many do not realizes is Deities have the ability to take on and shape they choose. So is it impossible for Inari to be a Fox? Nope, besides Kitsune are shapeshifter too after all Wink.

I've heard of her as well, and i do refer to her as mother, in a way but not always. I've tried looking up some info on her, but everything that comes up is either to vague or is pure misconception. >_<

Aww! It's too bad no one has any direct lore to reference, but please feel free to give any information or experiences you have, even if they are not verifiable though!

I've found out that the first time i encountered a spirit (well second if i remove my grand mother) was September 20 the day she's feasted (?).

I know some one in my area who claimed to be the great kitsune mother in hiding. She has fairly proven herself to be a Kitsune, however I disbelieve her being THE mother. Could she be a "higher up" and being dramatic about herself? Are there multiple "mothers"? Or is she full of BS? I would like to know. I'll let her know about these forums and perhaps she will be willing to drop in and discuss this topic.

     :P
Well, the approach I take is fairly simple:
Yeah, I have an idea just what I am, but I also know one important thing:
     Hyper
    I may be wrong.
And really now... the way we are now it does not matter who or what we are or were.
    We're just us.
    Vulpiens in human bodies.
And as that, we're all the same... give or take some fancy skills.
Take me... I can befriend and channel spirits.
And Arisihi obviously can see aurae.
     fox_okay
But apart from that... claiming rank or renown... It doesn't really help.
And even if one is the reincarnation of someone important... does it really matter?
Respect needs to be earned. Great persons in the past earned the respect they have.
So even if they were reincarnations of them... they'd have to earn that same respect all over again.
     Huh?
Never take such things for granted.
That's were corruption by power starts.

Agreed. We shouldn't be trying to figure out our ranks, we should be more concerned with each other and how we view ourselves as a whole. The last thing we need to do is become a part from one another with classifications.

We are Kitsune, that is all we need.
