Decided to start this thread after finding a few who are interested in finding out why there seems to be a connection/mystery between Kitsunes and Dragons. I'm only new to the forums but this had sparked my interest also, what with being a Dragonsune (Dragon/Kitsune hybrid). So perhaps anyone who is interested about this can share their thoughts and opinions on~

~ Any affinities/connections they have had with Kitsunes and/or Dragons
~ Why they think that there is a connection between the two
~ Any particular memories that may provide answers to the mystery

This is quite a broad topic and one that I hope will spark some interests in finding out the connection between Kitsunes and Dragons for not just my own interest, but also to others who asked me if I had an idea on this topic. Keep in mind anyone can add further sub-topics to that list as they contribute to the overall topic.

    --------------------------------------

    I'll start things off with abit about one of my past lives that may have a clue to something (Or not), and also thoughts on the mentioned sub-topics;

Because this memory of my past life is in an unknown time so far, nor is it defined of any particular plane of existence I cannot be clear on when and where this occured. Originally in this past life I used to be a pure white kitsune, without my dragon 'half'. After having an association with Forest Dragons and with my current mate who is a Forest Dragon, both me and my mate had 'Soul Fused' in that past life we shared together for a life of Mateship. We gained a half of each other in balance. In this life he prefers to keep himself as a Dragon for aesthetics purposes of his origin but he still is part Kitsune and dragon, while I'm accepting of both halves and keep a balance letting them show through... hence the Dragonsune form Wink

Often I think its some sort of Yin Yang effect between the two, there differences as a whole but neither can live without the other. Yet for what Reason is there this thought? I wouldn't have a clue if it was cause of my experience or something before that particular memory Shocked I hear that Dragons and Kitsunes should be mortal enemies in some cases, while from my past experience its completely the opposite case. Huh?

So there is my first contribution and a start on this topic. I'm open to any further questions of my past also if anyone wishes to ask anything. :P

     :P
So this is what you were talking about.
    Very exquisite indeed.
Yeah, it was about time a topic like this was started.
     Busy
"Dragons and foxes are very much the same."
    That phrase resounds within me.
As am I, a mix of dragon, fox and cat, and many other small parts to boot.
     fox_okay
But why is it I see myself most strongly as a fox and then a dragon?
Maybe those parts are so much alike that they reinforce one another?
     Hyper
Yes, let us keep a track of the sorts of dragons we feel such a close resemblance to.
    Maybe similarities will show?
     Huh?
As for me, it is a wind dragon, an elegant flier.
Not a big sort of dragon, but actually much like a fox.
    Swift and elegant.

I myself have always been pure Kitsune, but I've also had an affinity for Dragons... One of my spirit protectors is a Silver dragon. From what I remember I somehow befriended this dragon and he has been around me for a very long time.

This is something I've wondered about myself. As Ivy said, Dragon and kitsune are supposed to be enemies, but I've met many dragons over my lifetime.

Hm.. I know someone who is a half dragon half raven, though it's been a few years since I've seen him. We were actually quite good friends, and for a bit rivals in knowledge and intuition. Smiley

     Huh?
    I don't get it.
Where did you hear that dragons and foxes are supposed to be enemies?
I've never heard of it at all, and it doesn't really make any sense to me either.
    I'm just confused.
     Huh?

The idea of dragons and kitsune being enemies is a White Wolf RPG creation.

Please ignore it.  No such rivalry exists.   Also same goes for Kitsune and Tanuki.  They do have a kind of rivalry, but its more like sibling rivalry, not sports team rivalry.  When push come to shove they have always come together.

I once knew a small community of dragons much like the community here of us kitsune.

However, something happened to them and we lost contact...I had a good friend there, yes.  fox_thoughtful

     Huh?
I have given this topic some more thought, and have come up with a... hypothesis.
     fox_okay
I think we can agree on there being a mother of foxes, whatever you call her. And we're her children, thus making us all siblings in a manner of speaking.
     Huh?
However, the existance of a mother also implies the existance of a father, so it came to mind that...
     Hyper
What if we are actually hybrids?
What if we have both vulpine and dragonic blood running through our veins?
     Huh?
Maybe that is why we could not be born into any sort of homeworld.
Maybe that is why we are stranded here.
     fox_thoughtful
This is a very complex thought.
So I thought I'd post it here so everyone who likes can ponder it.

Hmm, that is an interesting thought.... Would make some sort of sense too. So, a mother of foxes and a father of dragons?

I'd be interested in trying to scour through memories for this Hyper Well you got me interested in this thought. Smiley

^ For a note to the post above, Einstein actually didn't invent relativity :P

*ahem* I do have a question on this topic- if one is a kitsune, but feels no affinity for dragons, would that be abnormal? Or could their kitsune heritage be called into question? Not that I'm accusing anyone, I'm mostly wondering for myself.

If one is a Kitsune yet doesn't feel an affinity for dragons thats ok Smiley not everyone may have an affinity between the two. If there is anything you feel needs to be put up about this topic then go ahead, be interesting to hear more views
