I'm sort of curious about this myself.

     Wink
Court reminds me of a courtyard to play in.
Or a court to go to for judgement.

Erm... Actually, most of us don't have much of an idea of what exactly the courts are, as we don't stick our noses into their business. You'd have to ask Alynna, or... I dunno, Samui might know.

What I do know is that's it's a gathering of kitsune for a variety of serious purposes. They do judge crimes, but that's only a small part of it.

    I don't know anything else.

It's not that nobody knows. It's just that everyone who knows isn't really here much.

     Huh?
    Well, celestial courts my tail!
    Seriously.
     fox_thoughtful
They are of as little consequence to us and the world as the gods as far as I can see.
     Hyper
    I have my advocate friends.
I know the world is full of spirits, and I have trouble even percieving those of them who are closest to me.
     Nerdy
So to make it short, I don't think they exist.
Probably made up by human exageration of things that actually existed.
Maybe there was an influential skulk of foxes sometime in the past.
Take a few thousand years' worth of human exxageration and you have the all powerful celestial court.
     Huh?
    I remain unconvinced.
Open for anyone to proove me wrong, but until then...
    No.
    Simply no.

I think i can prove you wrong! with my flawless and amazing logic! you see its all a matter of...faith! yes faith! with faith anything and everything is both impossibel and possibel! want to have a war? claim "god" wants this war and every "faithful" person who belives in your god will join you! want to take over land? claim "manafest destiney"! and this even works in reverse too! say someone breaks into your home and puts a gun to your head about to shoot you! just close your eyes and DONT belive in the gun! and you will not get hurt. i promise!

    My tail!
     Huh?
I form myself an own image of the world.
Sure, I check on myth and all, but I always ask me "what caused it?" and "what might it have looked like before it changed?".

I have a hard time believing many incredoulous stories, but I don't judge people for them.
I ask myself "what is behind the stories they tell?".

The courts were something from china that japan also used a form of. Basically it was an extremely ritualistic and formalized government body heavily dependent on rank, sort of like a twice-baked version of the system in europe. The dukes and earls and barons were all basically picked by the king either for their noble blood or their successes in war or trade, and given a title, some land, and a say in what went on in the kingdom. And they would meet in a sort of impromptu parliament, and there were rules of order and agreed upon ways of doing things. This order and neutral atmosphere allowed warring lords to still come together at the same table, and making sure the whole country didn't implode into a giant catfight, and that they could drop their internal conflicts to defend the kingdom if needed. It wasn't much different in japan. The thing is that, leave it to humans to have human-centric worldviews, they generally assumed that celestial beings and earthly Kami used the exact same system. I guess they figured the goings on in the world were decided by committee and praying was like appealing to a lord who happened to be on the right committee. I wonder if there was gerrymandering going on behind the scenes so that the people praying for something wouldn't be in the right district to be heard.

The fat girl at your school is just a self-absorbed godmoding RP'er and is probably a total bitch to boot. Pay her no mind.

I was looking up as I was walking home and just realized how... huge everything is, everything but us, we're so small. But yet... I could almost feel it, the spark of life, the thread of fate, a bit of electric sizzle in the stars. I was reminded of death, and thereby of life. I felt alive. I think maybe, if I can just feel that for a moment every now and then, anything else that happens to me is O.K.
