Well I just stay away from any kin-slayer courts we may have if they're real (those who could hunt and kill their/our own kin), if what I heard that we have any is true. I do not even want to be close to them. We are all a family, and courts who kill any of us commit an act of utmost evil. Otherwise, with other things they probably know what they're doing.

....ALL courts have trackers and slayers.  They have them as a precautionary measure, just in case any one member of the kin becomes engrossed with power and then decides to wreak havoc.

Taoki, please forgive me for asking this, but I am curious about your views on this particular manner (mainly because you are very vocal about it, and I don't mean that in an accusatory or bad way).

Please consider this thought experiment.  If a kitsune went through the world, slaughtered your relatives, mercilessly killed many others whether they be human, kitsune, youkai or any other creature, would you still think that the courts are wrong in sending out a slayer to make the slaughtering end?  How about if this kitsune only killed other kitsune?  Or if they only killed humans, or only youkai, or only any other particular species?

And furthermore, if your answers are different for some of those last few questions, why are they different?

------

And on a different tangent (I don't want to make a double post), I too am curious to know how many non-Inari kitsune courts are out there.  Furthermore, I am curious as to what they are like.  I have yet to meet anyone from these other courts, but perhaps that can be chalked down to me not knowing that many kitsune yet in this lifetime.  Logically, it makes sense though that there would be a great variety of courts, some with kitsune as members.

As for messenger kami, I wonder, if in the case of Susanowo-sama, if it is a type of raven or bird.  I don't remember who His messenger is exactly either, but somewhere deep within my mind I see a bird associated with Him in some way.  I don't have a lot of resources on hand about Him though.

The reason I'm so concerned and get so involved in this so much is because I care about us very much, and don't want any of us to get hurt. Now if a kitsune would do that, why slayers? Can't they just send someone to capture him/her and put them on an island or in a realm with others like him/her or a place where they can't do harm? There are many ways of stopping someone other then killing. Why killing? Only a very few kitsunes may probably do that, and those who would could be stopped in other ways without hurting them either, I believe. Sorry if I get overly involved and seem mean or anything, I don't want to do it on purpose. Just don't like the idea of something like this happening to us and all.

...Taoki, either you let all that terrible weight fly past your head, or you don't view it as having any merit.  Both are disturbing and make you seem very very specist.

Easy, she's just been through alot of suffering she doesn't undestand, she's trying to cope and make it better, as are alot of kitsune with dark conflictions and childish natures.

The problem isn't slayers, it's just some fucking way some decided to play god at it, and we shall leave it at that.

I think the problem with simply imprisoning murderers is that any prison can be escaped from.  If the murderer is imprisoned with others, that place too can become like most prisons today, and end up being a worse environment that makes the criminal even more likely to commit crime in the future.

There are also some who simply, no matter what, will never have any remorse for their actions.  Sociopaths simply do not have any understanding of why they must not murder, they only are concerned with their own material benefit.  If you imprison them by themselves somewhere in one of the many words out there, you are not really providing any *real* deterrent for those who are most likely to commit such crimes in the first place.  Plus, you are also risking some other hapless wanderer coming across the prison and having the deal with the mess that's been made.

I agree, though, that the actions of slayers, while necessary in my mind, should never be used in the pursuit of politics and power alone.  To execute someone for such a selfish reason is totally against the spirit of the law and is in itself a murder worthy of being punished in my opinion.

How about actually taking psychopaths and mindless murderers and finding a way to simply remove that out of their mind? Or imprisoning them by theirselves in a nice and warm place? Why just kill them?

And Kuro, why is my view specist? You mean that being against someone wanting to murder their own kin/family automatically means I am treating someone else badly? I do not encourage the murder of anyone, and I discourage death as a whole on any other specie too now. I am just mentioning that murdering your own kin is like murdering your family. If I talk against the idea of someone murdering their family, it doesn't mean that I am discriminating the entire world who murders strangers...

Brainwashing never works, but how is it that different? It's not up to someone else to play god and see what is an 'acceptable thought' or not. "Nice place"? Are there such places? Though, what could be so nice to someone else would be absolute hell for another. Earth is a big case in point there. Then again, virtually a prison itself, I suppose.

I find it a bit amusing when people talk about such things. Mm, is it automatically wrong to want to kill "your family"? In your mind, there seems no justification. And what happens if they've not only done horrific things to you, but almost anyone or anything they touch? Personally, someone will probably kill my family at some point regardless. I'd rather be the one to "repay their kindness" than leaving it to someone with less personal stake in the matter.

There's always going to be murder, death, destruction. Even if everyone, everywhere, were a total pacifist, it'd be the case. The reasons vary, but too many people are short-sighted and ignorant at best; Genocide is an ever-popular hobby for a lot of things. Why, if wishful and naive thinking were any way to change things, would any of us be here? Too many things will only change in response to violence. How many entire species were made specifically for the sole intent of violence? Hee.

On the original topic... I had one view. A later post had me think of another that further backs it.

Are all nogitsune malicious or... well, the generic thing?
Because in my reading I thought about it... I wouldn't be a myobu because of what I'll say later... and... I don't particularly match the description of nogitsune that I had read about. I'm not a follower and yet have a desire to serve... and... I'm not malicious. Sometimes I admit I'll be sneaking and such... but only for fun. (Even at work... it's great to sneak up and throw a ball of wrap at co workers, and to try to keep from being a victim of that myself.)

As to why I wouldn't be a myobu... my view is that... um... I don't have anything to do with gods and gods have nothing to do with me... I'm afraid.
I came to that quite a while back because I just... haven't had anything suggesting otherwise.

What are thoughts on this though? I mean well, and like to help, but also tend to keep to myself at times...
I tend to view everyone as peers... sometimes even "superiors".

No, they are not. There can be good nogitsune and even some more dark myobu in my opinion. A nogitsune is just a kitsune that does not serve Inari. They can be the sweetest and cuddliest things ever, or whatever they choose to be I believe :) many are said to be dark though.

I mostly have the same view. The only exception was me willing to have Inari as my goddess and be hers, but that only if she is too a kitsune and... well, at least close to how I got used to picture her. I believe being free can be very nice too, and you can just like gods and goddesses how you like people.
