I had been wanting to talk to Kitsune otherkin for a while, and I was glad to come across this site! I'm human, but my lover is a kitsune, reincarnated too. We believe I was in that life too (still human of course), and then I was the boy and he was the girl. That life actually took place in Japan, we think more than 50 years ago.  She was actually in a clan of Kitsune back then, and her clan didn't have a very good relation to humans. And I remembered a group of humans that were radically against yokai. So the fact that we'd fallen in love was an outrage to both sides, we eloped at a shinto shine, the priest there being the only one who supported our relationship, and afterward we ran away. We don't quite recall how we died, but we were probably killed...
As my user-name suggests, I love yokai and yokai-kin, and I always want to be friends with them! I've always felt better affiliated towards them than other humans, probably because I've always had the ability to see spirits and kami that aren't in physical bodies, as well as the fact that they're more supportive of my spiritual abilities.
I hope I can make alot of friends here!

    Hello, nice to meet you.

Be wary, you who tread in the darkness too black for human eyes. ^^

Okay, I'm kidding, I pulled that from an anime somewhere.

Anyone is welcome here. You will find that kitsune are as varied as humans, with no singular form or purpose or mode of thought. We are typically mischevious, but our philosophies range from those of our Dark fox friend to those who almost have no belief, from the incredibly hard-nosed to those such as myself, that apologizes if anyone was insulted by the previous statement.

We have surprisingly few non-kitsune youkai, but we do have a western demon amongst our ranks here. ^^

    Thank you all!   :D
And there's one more thing Kazemei and I would like to share. Apearently, she had given birth to a son just before we ran off, and left him in the care of the clan. And after all these years he's found us again (he still looks young after 58 years or so, kitsune aging), but he's stuck on the spirit plain. We call him "Kitsu" because he was never given a birth name or clan name, as it turns out the clan was still bitter towards us and mistreated him. Sad  So he was kicked out after an outburst, and found us. Smiley
So, does anyone have any advice for raising a kitsune child? lol

    Eight tails, huh?

Well, make sureto add that data to the Tail Count Poll.

    As for raising a fox...
I say give him plenty of free space, let him explore the world on his own and don't force him to do anything. But also be there to satisfy his curiosity and help him out when he needs it. DOn't force yourself upon him, but let him make his very own choices.
     Wink
At least that's what I'd recommend.

I would say, don't be too protective. Stay connected, make it known you're there if he needs you, but don't try to make choices for him and don't be too worried and check up on him every week.  :P

If he starts clinging to you, try to dissuade that. You're not always going to be around to look after him, and if he's 58 he should be making his own choices. if he starts clinging to someone else, that's not your problem, but you should be there in case he gets his heart broken.

But then, I don't know much of anything about kids  :P

There probably is. But I could almost guarantee it's not worth the cost.
