      >3 ex-step siblings, all older --from 2nd marriage.
      >4 step siblings from current marriage, half older, half younger --only lived with the younger ones before.

And my three favorite smells are campfires, fireworks, and fresh cut grass. ^_^

Reason for posting in this manner:
-I like organizing things in lists rather than lots of paragraphs, when I can.
-I don't see any of that as really being very sensitive information, what with facebook, yahoo, google, and a bunch of other companies already throwing it about in larger and more revealing ways.
-If I was really worried about anonymity, I wouldn't use the internet in the first place. If someone has the motive to do so, it isn't that hard to track an IP address. And I'm not really tech-savy enough to make it harder for them.
-And hey, it gets all that out of the way so people have a better idea where I'm coming from.

    Reason for posting at all:
I'd like to participate in a community that at least tries to abstain from excessive dogma, while discussing subjects, and sharing experiences related to this forum's themes. Also, since some of my experiences and views may contrast somewhat with those of the community, I think I have a perspective to offer which may benefit such an audience. Not in a preachy way, I hope. But as 'food for thought' with new illustrations.

    Thanks for your time.  Smiley

Wow, talk about attention to detail and organisation. Feel free to ignore any questions, as I am a very inquisitive person, and sometimes I dig a little deeper than I should.

I understand what you mean about the religion chain, it seems most of our parents forced us to go until we were wise enough to go our own way, and after trying out several flawed religions, we left the standard path to seek something new.

As far as religiously independent, what does that mean? Do you practice in any way, or do you use rituals, traditions, and parts of the religions that you know about?

I also consider myself independent of religions, but many of my friends and family are protestant/catholic, so I end up spending time with their traditions and rituals, even when I know that they are pointless and wasteful. Just smile and wave!

You also stated that you have lived in three states, which state do you currently reside in?

What is your main purpose for visiting Kitsuhana as opposed to some other forum? I noticed that you feel that you are a Kitsuné, can you elaborate on why you feel this way, or what gave you the notion that you might be something other that a pure human? Have you been exposed to or have you preformed any supernatural act that would be difficult to recreate?

Why the choice of name? I am very curious as to why people choose what they do, and yours (KD) seems to lack any basis for a good guess. Do you have any names other than the one given by your parents?

Contrary to popular belief there is a LOT of information archived on this site, most of it is very relevant to any being on any path, so make yourself at home and enjoy the bounty of intellectual and theological delights.

Woah, nice bunch of data here. Foxes feed on that.
And yeah, I'm curious about the data behind the name too.
But it has a nice ring to it: "KayDee"

By "independent" I meant I don't practice or adhere to any one belief-system deliberately.  I try to figure out things for myself --weighing what I hear & see against my sense of reason, and what I feel in my 'heart'.  I try to be 'true' to that 'heart' ~whatever it might be.  And I try to find a way to 'wrap my mind around it'.

Washington Is my cloudy home.  :P

Honestly, aside from the few real world friends I've talked to about such things, I've pretty much kept to myself.  I've looked up things online, read a couple books, and just figured out what I could through contemplation, and experience.  I journal a lot.  But I've never joined any kind of online community about such things.  I went through various threads for a few days before joining.  I liked the way some of the community tried to address topics, and thought it would be good for me to participate as well.

As for 'kitsune-hood', 'awakening' and other such topics, I'm gonna save those for other threads as I get caught up on the backlog in front of me.  Busy  But don't worry.  I definitely plan to go into that, soon.  It's been on my brain for days.  Wink

:D Hehe, names. A fun topic, I guess.
I'll start with "KD".  Came up with it a couple years ago, as part of something creative I was working on.  The project fell through, but I loved the name, and the sound.  Long and short versions.  The long version is "Kitsune Doom".  (Is one of your eyebrows raised? I'm curious if it is.)

Anyway, the idea was there were two things that came up frequently when playing around. One: that I obviously identified with foxes on some level. Two: whenever I didn't know what to say, or someone wanted to know what the heck I was writing (aka "plotting") I would proclaim "Doom".  It became a running gag with one of my friends --that and my "plot for world domination".  But then everyone else started "plotting" too.  Sad  Very sad.  =(

Now there was one last question...*search, search, search*
    Quote
Do you have any names other than the one given by your parents?
Answer: Several, I guess. Especially the first, middle, & last ones.  :P
Funny you should ask. I legally changed the whole thing when I graduated high school.  Were you thinking of a particular kind of name? Function?

    Thanks for the questions.  Smiley

Not really a particular kind of name, but a specific name that was given to you by someone you know, or by yourself to redefine who you are. Most of us have short versions of our given names, or modified versions. (Someone named "Charlie", may also be called "Chuck") But those are still associated with our given names, and do not properly express our independence and individuality from our parents. Most folks attribute their given names to their "given" lives. Their entire childhood/young adult period is encapsulated in this name, and that name defines who you were at that time in your life.

Those who decide to name themselves take responsibility for their lives and their future, and sometimes you may change names and "masks" several times during a normal lifespan. Most folks that are somewhat enlightened have something else that they call themselves, but most don't go to the trouble of officially changing it.

I have settled on my current name, not because I liked it in any particular way, but because it was not the name that my parents gave me. In some odd psychological way it permits me to live the way I wish, and be a different person than my parents attempted to mold me to be. I still own the mask that my parents gave me, and I use it when I am around my family, but that is not what I would call my prime personality.

There are also "names" (OR UUID's for you linux users) associated with our souls, independent of our physical bodies, but I do not have any experience in this area, so it is nothing more than speculation for me at this point.

I think I share your "DOOM" gene, whenever I am sailing with others and something breaks... "DOOM!", or I am playing a game with someone else, and I start losing, again "DOOM". Personally I feel it is quite a wonderful thing to be able to make fun of and laugh during a serious situation. The more serious the situation the funnier it is.

World domination is a worthy goal, but I am aiming for galactic domination. A few billion stars and planets is almost too much to keep track of.

    Welcome to the boards, KD.

At first I was wondering why you posted like that but answered me before I could ask and you make a great point.
Though, the data is rather unnecessary for this kind of forum.

First off, thanks Kira for the pic. It made me laugh.  Smiley
And I too, like being unfettered by the heavy burden which is dominating others.  Once I was goofing off in high school and 'bought' a couple soul as a joke.  It was probably just psychological, but I started to feel weighed down and drained afterward.  It was weird. @_@  So i quickly 'sold' them back to their original owners and decided to lay off on the jokes about buying souls, from thereafter.  Silly I suppose.

I wonder if I tend to take things a little further than most see reason to...  Like the name change thing.  I also named seven different parts of my human body, my previous & current 'soul', the various 'aspects'/archetypes/modes I tend to think through each have a couple different names attached to them.  Then there is the list of conceivable 'nicknames' I compiled based on the one I legally adopted, 'magickal names' from my experiences as a wiccan, my 'god's' name, my ex-past-life's name, my current incarnation's name, the next-incarnation's name of my previous soul...  Heh, yah. I think I might take things a little too far sometimes.  :P

*shrug* I'm silly, I know.  Posting that much data like that.  But I was thinking of it from my own point of view as a reader, since I don't know my audience that well yet.  If I had that much data contained in an easy to find place about someone else and they were posting something, I could reference it before replying, with a better understanding of who I was replying to, what they may have experienced, or not.

I frequently read people's posts two or three times when I am composing a reply to the same topic.  My memory isn't the best, so I do the same thing on tests in school.  It helps my grades. ^^  I really try not to stray off topic too far, or make poor arguments like those 'scotsmen' and 'strawmen' I hear people I look up to, warning me against.  I probably need to shorten my posts, too. =P

Thanks for maintaining this community everyone.  I look forward to being a part of it.  :D
