Ever since I got back the shoutbox is not working.

I am logged in, I write a message and press Shout, but nothing happens. It is apparently working for other people.

    Any ideas?

I think maybe, if I can just feel that for a moment every now and then, anything else that happens to me is O.K.

I'm not having any problems with the shoutbox, but when I try to log in, the forums will look corrupted or I'll get an error stating that the server cannot be found sometimes. It could just be my internet provider...  Huh?

Works at home, but not at work. both are Ubuntu 9.10. It may be some kind of firewall issue, does the shoutbox use another server?

Well I dunno for sure but the extension I use in firefox to manage third-party resources on pages doesn't have anything except for yahoo and ICQ to load their online/offline icons. Also, the resources are loading from kitsuhana.org/shoutbox/ according to adblock so if it is a firewall issue would it mean the shoutbox app is calling home all sneaky-like during the loading? That wouldn't be good at all, really. Of course I know only slightly more than nothing about client-server relationships, so it's all guesswork here.

It could be as simple as your work network blocking parts of Flash.

I will check it out next time I am at work and I have a few moments to waste.

It is probably a networking issue of some kind, as I use the same adblock / noscript combo at home.

    Oh.

I fucking hate it when computers have a problem for practically no reason and then "fix" themselves before you can discover what it was, so it doesn't happen again!

And here I was excited. I thought it was finally going to be the end of the shoutbox.
