Meh, I don't claim to actually know Japanese, I just like to toy with it. I take no offense from the "harshness" of your post. There is nothing to apologize for. I make mistakes in my native language all the time. I've never had great verbal skills. I would love to learn Japanese but I suppose this is what I get for assuming something is correct and copying it from another website.

Do you study Japanese? If so, for how long? If not, where did you obtain your technical knowledge?

I do not offend so easily. It takes a great deal of effort to upset me. My friends have even said I have infinite patience. My question to you is: Why so negative? If there is something wrong or you are not feeling well, perhaps we can discuss it. We are here to help each other, are we not?

"We learn from our errors" But if no one tell you there is an error you can`t learn.
Kira is the one who spot error so you can learn. He did it to me a lot when we were talking on IM
Kira have a big knowledge and he share it whit us  Smiley. As a Gray fox.

Ah, but before people get a stern finger-wagging, I must say that if you're going to continue with off-topic posting, even if it is in the poster's own Heyas topic, you're going to have to split it Wink

(Also, Kyou, fast track lessons Wink I'm using them.)

I've heard of the Rosetta Stone system, but it's really expensive. I've never heard of fast track lessons, but I'll look into it.

Reality is a nice place, but I would never want to live there.

A man once asked a fox, “What do you dream about when you sleep in the fields?” To which the fox replied, “When foxes dream they visit another world.” Hearing this, the man said, “That sounds wonderful.  Can I go there?” The fox grinned and answered, “No, you cannot, because you’re already there.” ~ Brian David Granatir

Yeah, they do try to charge alot for rosetta, which takes it out of alot of people's reach. Which is why there's torrents of it. But that would be wrong. Yes you definitely shouldn't go the thepiratebay.org, and if you did it'd be especially ignoble to search for "rosetta stone japanese".

I was looking up as I was walking home and just realized how... huge everything is, everything but us, we're so small. But yet... I could almost feel it, the spark of life, the thread of fate, a bit of electric sizzle in the stars. I was reminded of death, and thereby of life. I felt alive. I think maybe, if I can just feel that for a moment every now and then, anything else that happens to me is O.K.

The Japan Page is, in my honest opinion, one of the best sites to learn Japanese from. It also includes a java-y chat, I think that's the kind, with others that are learning and do know Japanese. They post in both romaji and characters. Yes, there is the shoutbox on the site, but there is an actual chatroom.

The link I posted is my preferred way to learn Japanese as it cuts through the crap and gives you the material slightly... I don't want to say "stream-lined", but I think that's the word it is.

I prefer to say characters over kanji because they use both katakana and hiragana.

Plus I just like to say characters :3

Romaji is the main way that people use anymore. I don't have any character sets on my computer and getting the language pack was quite very confusing, so I decided against it.

Imo, as long as you've got a legit serial and paid a reasonable amount for the right to use the software, their EULA means less than nothing- it's your computer in your house storing your data. It's comparable to castle doctrine! You want to pirate a disk, because the one they gave you can't install windows or has bloat/branding on its installation? You want to use a pirated edition that gets rid of the microsoft spyware and DRM? That's Microsoft's fault- in the software world, workarounds are the natural result of anti-consumer practices.

Actually, I heard there's a classaction in europe trying to get microsoft to reimburse people who were forced to buy windows with a new computer. Here's hoping we get a piece of that in the US.

But as much as I like badmouthing micro$uck, I think this has derailed enough. You never elaborated, how did your friends come to think of you as a cat? Or is it just speculation?
