Windows Vista with Firefox here. I wonder if it can make the difference between Ultimate and Black Edition
Edit - Hmm... it says Windows Vista/Server 2008

I'm tired of a particular error recurring due to an old hard drive I CBA to replace on my mom's ancient laptop, so I threw ubuntu on it and it works a treat.
My mom won't really even know much of a difference, she just uses it to check her email and play solitaire anyway, lol.

Upgraded my main PC and laptop to Windows 7 x64. It's indeed quite better than Vista

Discount laptop sale! Seven year old Panasonic 1.4ghz 512mb 13.3" Toughbook, with 16GB PATA SLC SSD! Super Awful Intel Extreme video chipset so no worthwhile 3D capabilities.
It sure is fast though, especially compared to my old 300mhz 256mb IBM laptop with XP pro! And it should survive a trip through a washing machine if needed.
I am stuck with windows again, but at least this one came with XP pro preinstalled. I will probably wipe it back to Ubuntu eventually, but I hear setting up the touchscreen is difficult.
Something else to keep me entertained! I so love to tinker with electronics.

I actually enjoy setting up XP pro. I guess I'm sort of a masochist.
My mom's desktop with Vista Ultimate. Ultimate cancer is more like it, there is nothing in this better than XP.

Can you trade "Vista Ultimate" for the "XP actually works" edition?

I probably should. But I CBA. It's not like I have to use it very often, and my mom doesn't really know the difference.

Windows 7 is very good (has everything Vista has + more + works and is as good and stable as XP... possibly more). I would warmly recommend it to everyone, I already have it set up on all computers & laptop
