This rant here is going on the main announcement page because people must know about this.
I have in general, very little tolerance for posers, roleplayers (at least in this context) and otakukin, and I know that as kitsune we are exposed to alot more of the 'otakukin' thing due to the nature and source of alot of kitsune lore, but it is still an intolerable mockery of otherkin, therian and kitsune concepts.  Allowing and accepting some things actually weaken our own legitimacy.  And I have been lax in enforcement, in fact, not been around, due to chaos in my own life... but now that I am back the community standards will be enforced once again, which means ...

I have had a single guiding policy about people who appear to be posers, RPers and otakukin, to offer correcting advice, and allow and expect the person to take that advice, introspect on it, then return hopefully with a different perspective on themselves, grounded in logic, reason, and reality.

It would be arrogant, and in fact, wrong, to say that anyone can tell you what you are.  However on the other side of that, greater claims require greater evidence, and less likely claims are more and more probability-challenged.  The greater and less likely the claim being made about onesself, the more likely it is that you are either seeking an ego-boost, being escapist, roleplaying, or just plain deluded or insane.

And here I am going to give a summary of some things that I will and will not tolerate in this otherkin community:

1) Otakukin, IMHO, are inherently probability-challenged.   In the specific realm of kitsune related claims, if you come here saying that you are Naruto, Tails, Fox McCloud, Krystal, Kuugen-chan, or any other specific kitsune from a known and established mainstream media format, you will be immediately banned.  I do not feel that we as a communiuty should have to attempt to explain to you why you are wrong, because I believe anyone who makes such a claim is beyond help from anyone but a licensed psychiatrist.  PLEASE SEEK HELP.  I do not think I need to say that if other 'otakukin' claims are made (like being Sephiroth) this same rule applies.

2) On the topic of media related kitsune races, such as Renamon, Vulpix, Eevee, etc...  Anyone making the claim that they are specifically one of these races, is hereby advised that these races are based on kitsune.  You cannot be a Renamon, or a Vulpix, because these are caricatures of kitsune..  I, and the majority of the kitsune community can accept, that there may be types or races of kitsune on which media related kitsune like Renamon and Vulpix are based on, and that you may very well be of that type of kitsune.   But that does NOT mean you are a Renamon or Vulpix, it means you are a type of kitsune on which that concept was based.  It would be very useful for you to introspect on this information.   On the forums, If claims of being a vulpix, eevee, renamon, or any 'otakusune' (ooo i just made a word) race are being made, I will do nothing more than point back at this post.  If continued claims to being an 'otakusune' are made, you will be banned.  PLEASE READ AND UNDERSTAND THIS ENTIRE SECTION KTHX.

3) This is not a roleplaying board.  If you are coming here and you are not otherkin but you want to play like you are an otherkin (specifically a kitsune) then you are in the wrong place and your existence here will be short.   There's lots of great places you can go to roleplay as a kitsune, like Kitsune Paradise, which allows not only RP on their boards, but also has a good MUCK to play on as well.  Needless to say if you come on this board and roleplay, noone is going to get WTF you are talking about, people will think you're crazy ... then you will be banned.

4) If you come to this board, and you know you're not an otherkin, but, you come and pretend you are one anyway, you are what we would call a poser.   Most claims of being a kitsune are accepted here, unless or until claims start being made that are nonsensical or grandiose.  Expect to be asked to back any claim, including that you are a kitsune.  I personally do not like the practice of grilling, as they say and do in many therian forums, however we reserve the right to DO it if something doesn't feel or sit right about someone's claims.  Please note the following:  If you do not know why you are otherkin, please start thinking about it.  Even if you post here asking that you might be a fox/kitsune/otherkin/etc but you are not sure and you are looking for help/advice, that is valid, that's not being a poser.  This doesn't mean people who aren't otherkin can't post here either, but if you're not kin, don't claim to be, and noone will call you out on it.  If you believe you are, be prepared to explain why or to ask for help figuring out why.  Very simple.

I would like everyone to understand that the function of this community is primarily related to the things that I feel called as a kitsune and a person to do, to gather my own kin (the fox kin) to learn more about ourselves and to discuss and document what we learn, to help kin (of all types, especially kitsune) awaken, to help them on the path of discovering their nature, but not to dictate that nature to them..  and generally, to be able to associate together as kin for our own well being and the advancement of otherkin in general. Seems all benevolent and all, but I do believe Gaia and Inari and other gods and goddesses give us purpose, and this is mine.   Therefore I want to make sure this community succeeds in these goals, and I will defend it.

I was looking up as I was walking home and just realized how... huge everything is, everything but us, we're so small. But yet... I could almost feel it, the spark of life, the thread of fate, a bit of electric sizzle in the stars. I was reminded of death, and thereby of life. I felt alive. I think maybe, if I can just feel that for a moment every now and then, anything else that happens to me is O.K.
