Hi!

Hi. I found this site while researching kitsune for a story I'm trying to write. I got hooked when I read about the experiences and statuses of others here.
I'm a 16-year-old male from Ohio, in the USA. I like to run, climb, sit in high places, climb 2 walls, and try to stand on my hands. I still can't do that!
I am very intelligent. Not only do I get A's in school, but I work hard and I consider myself wise. I am skinny, and of average height. I have a close connection with the family cat. I don't like her all that much (cat = mean), but I can understand her when she wants something and I am the only one in my family who can properly punish her when she does something wrong, so she doesn't do it again. Also, she waits until I have all of the tuna on her plate before she eats her food. Everyone else has to yell at her or ignores her when she starts chowin' down.
I love every season of the year. My favorite colors are green, orange, blue (to an extent... read on to see why), and pretty much any natural earth tone (brown, tan, yellow, etc.). I HATE deep water. When I think of the ocean or a lake, I get chills and can't think straight. I can't even examine a globe for long! Google Earth is the worst... *shudders*
I like to be barefoot (I am right now) as much as possible. I also do a lot with my feet. No, I don't write or brush my teeth with my toes! I shut the dishwasher with my foot when I'm washing my hands at the same time. I shut the fridge with my foot when I've got a glass in my hands. I pick clothes off of the floor with my feet. I like to run up the flight of stairs in my house, skipping every other step. I sometimes run up them on all fours. I am also VERY quiet when sneaking around at night. I can balance myself perfectly, and I remember where all the creaks are in my old house. I get downstairs and back up in the middle of the night in silence, despite that I weigh 120 lbs.
The day I was born, there was a bad snowstorm (in January). I was born seven days from 1990, and my luck number has always been 7. When I was born, I had blonde, curly hair. After my first birthday or so it turned straight and brown, like my parents' and my sister's are, and like it is now.
A few times, when I was probably only 4 years old, I dreamed that a ton of wolves/coyotes/foxes stampeded through my house. I thought they were going to eat me, but one little one crawled out from under my bed and talked to me. He asked me if I wanted to be his friend. I said yes, and we sat on my bed and talked, played, and stuff. I dreamed the same dream a few times, but every time it picked up where it was left off last time. Like the second time, for example, the little animal crawled out from under my bed and immediately started playing and talking to me, like a friend. I haven't had this dream since, but I had an echo of it a few years ago.
I have a stomach ulcer. At least, that's what I think it is. I haven't gotten it checked out. I hate it. Very much. However, it has shaped my life in a lot of ways, including making me stronger and wiser. I also sometimes have night terrors. Well, they're not really night terrors, but they're not nightmares, either. I'm dreaming something and the strongest sense of abandonment and fear you could ever feel hits me through the events in the dream. I wake up, usually crying, sweating, with my heart racing. In a few short seconds, I forget the feeling, and in a minute or so I forget the dream entirely, and am back to sleeping. I can never remember what the dream is about - all my thoughts are on the intense emotions.
So, that's me. I don't know what I am, but I want to find out. How would I do this? I am glad that there is a vibrant community here where I can talk to. I hope to have great experiences here!

Hi!
Well.
I have read your story, and I have to say you sound a lot like me before I discovered myself (apart from the ulcer that is).
When watching wildlife programmes (which i love), I have often got a sense of meaning/emotion/thought from the animal
before
the commentator said what the animal was feeling. I worked out that I find it easy to understand the body language, particularly of the ears and tail.
I do wonder if this is simallar to your cat!
From about 5 yrs onward, I never walked upstairs, just loped on all fours very fast, and (after a few bumped noses) managed to perfectly execute the sharp corner at the top at full speed! I'll admit, i still do this, though not often when we have visitors! My familly have just got used to it.
I could never stand wearing socks or shoes, and especially sandals! I mean, have shoe on and put up with it, or shoe off and be happy, but these strap thingies just seem stupid!
I'm very silent if I walk digitrade ( on toes like an animal) and have got a load of thick skin on the balls of my toes from putting all my weight on them.
I have always had a very strong imagination, so strong that i have been able to 'project' images oto thin air or people, kind of like a controlled hallucination. Occasionally I have seen things I didnt put there, and it always the same: A tail tip out of the corner of my eye.
All Im saying is that these quirks do go toether, but it doesnt have to
mean
anything. I'm sorry but its true. You could be human, through and through. And yet... There is, of course, the possibility.
Have you any connections with a certain animal? It might help to work out what animal your little furry friend is.
I also suggest meditation. I know, you may think its all "Peace, man yeah! So cosmic right now." but hey, it worked for me! ^_^

Wow. Thanks! Yeah, like I said, I don't know what I am, but I really wanna find out. Even if it means I'm actually human. I can live with that. But, that said, I found this after posting last. Do I check out?
1. Obssessed with foxes.
Yes. Healthily obsessed. XD
2. Fascinated by mythology.
Yes, very much. Japanese and Nordic is particular.
3. Likes to eat rice, tofu, sweet red beans, and meat.
Never had tofu or sweet red beans, but like rice and love meat (sometimes). I'm proud to be an omnivore, though. Meat and veggies make me happy.
4. Adversion to eye contact.
Oooh, this is definately me. I can't look people in the eye most of the time. It can cause problems sometimes.
5. Quiet, resevered, a bit of a loner (dark kitsune)
Yes. 80% correct.
6. Always seeking attention (average kitsune), can be very annoying! (all kitsune)
1- Never. 2- 20% correct.
7. Can be lazy, or listless.
Yes. Prefer sleeping/sitting than working.
8. Perfers nighttime to daytime.
Heck yes. The sun hurts my eyes. Nighttime makes everything seem mysterious.
9. Claims to have insomnia.
Uhh, no. Usually I fall asleep at a good time. If I've got friends over, I'm never the first or last one to fall asleep. However, some nights I don't sleep at all.
10. Obssessed with playing tricks (wild kitsune)
I *love* to jump out and scare people. Boo!
11. Obssessed with revenge (dark kitsune)
Uhh, no. Not yet, at least...
12. Likes to play tricks and tease but is friendly (light kitsune)
Yes. This goes with #10, and is actually more like me.
13. Likes to draw/write about/talk about kitsune or foxes when ever given the chance.
Yes. Mentioned it in my intro post.
14. Often times respects nature more than humans (all kitsune)
Heck yes. I love to sit outside and be peaceful. Usually other people give me a headache.
15. Likes Japanese culture and/or anime/manga (often)
Yup. Check!
16. Often times the person in question is a furry.
Hah? No...
17. The person in question has strong talent in either writing or drawing, but often times will keep it a secret because it sets them apart from humans.
Not especially, but I can write good stories and play the piano and draw all at a better-than-novice level.
18. The kitsune in question collects shiny, pointy, glittery, metallic, whirlly, or other intresseting ideas. (most of which are complete junk!)(yes, I have this problem too, my room is cramed with this kind of stuff)
No, not really. If I don't use it, I don't keep it. However, I do have a sweet, shiny mood ring that I love. Hmm... I also play Pokemon, and my friends tease me because I'm always the first to collect all the Pokemon. I'm obsessive about it. I organize my boxes and everything according to the Pokedex.
19. Most kitsune like items that emitt flashing, or pulsing lights. (is this why I like video games so much?)
What? Well, kinda. I dunno.
20. Explosions (come on who doesn't like explosions?)(often the person in question will laugh like a manic)
21. Things that bounce up and down, and up, and down, and up, and down...(hours of fun!)
'' (although I sometimes will watch nothing for a long time)
22. There is nothing a kitsune can't break! (give me half a minuit infront of a new commputer and it will crash, Ben knows that all to well!)
Everything that I touch becomes mutilated somehow. I always, always end up scarring my stuff. It's actually become an inside joke between my sister and I. However, I can fix a computer faster than lightning.
23. Anything which can be manipulated is an insstant favorite! (rubics cube is the best! I love twisting that thing for no apperant reason!)
Does this mean interactive/intelligent stuff? I love LEGOs, and I do have a rubiks cube (only got 1 side done, though).
24. Kitsune like most spicy food! (heh, ironically people who are more dog like hate spicy food!)
Yuck! Spicky food sucks. You get no flavor, and it turns my stomach into an inferno. Some spice (little bit) is ok, though.
25. Playing the strange, and funny songs repeatedly until they get way past the point of being annoying. (most kitsune have no idea how annoying they can be like this, if you are a victim give the kitsune a puzzle-type of toy and run, under no circumstances show weakness or any hint of going insane, it will only encourage the kitsune...)
I annoy people accidentally with weird songs all the time. This morning, actually.
I'm interested by my replies to some of these. It doesn't seem to point either way, does it?

Wow, can you give me the link to the webby where that was? (if it was on a website)
Remember, Im not an expert, so I cant verify if you 'check out'. I was, however, suprised to find that I can relate to many of those. See, Im not a kitsune, Im a Therianthrope/Lycanthrope/.... werewolf if you like, yes, i know, please read this if you fell likely to make comments about eating people!
http://www.witchscauldron.net/cauldron/weres.htm
I think the only person who can tell you you are inside is yourself. annoying, i know, but there is no black and white rule.
I think everyone here has gone through the self-doubt cycle.
And ive got to loggof now, so i cant post again till tomorrow.

The site was
http://http://www.freewebs.com/talonkitsune/kitsunetester.htm
. Nothing too exciting, but interesting to read.
Thanks for the insight, and the nifty link. I guess I just get frustrated sometimes. I'm gonna search for my true nature, and maybe someday I'll know what I am.

Hey there, and welcome to the boards! Very interesting stories about your childhood.
And also, thanks for the link to the site and the questionnaire, I got a good chuckle at myself when I was answering those questions myself, it's scary how accurate it was for me (like literally almost every one).
I too am still just beginning on the journey towards finding myself. What I find helps me is meditation as Lieka mentioned. I personally follow Shinto and Buddhist practices (I particularly like the simple, but powerful and calming chanting of Nichiren Buddhism) and I find that when I chant a simple mantra while meditating, it focuses my mind and I am able to delve deep into a space where sometimes I can see fuzzy details of my past. I'm not very good at it, but it's what helps me, and perhaps if you find something that grounds you and relaxes your mind, you may find bits and pieces of yourself and get a better understanding of who you are. Not to mention that it is very relaxing in any case to just sit down and empty your mind for a while. And of course, there is plenty of nice (and not so nice) material out there on the 'web for greedy little minds to devour!
Anyway, take care, and see you on the boards!
