Hmmm...

Well, as you said the tails are in no particular order. And mind you we are no elemental creatures. The elements will not be directly tied to your tails, but it may be the other way around, after all, you are (likely) getting more 'powerful' as you get more tails, and it may be more of a part of the gained knowledge.

Electricity and Lightning are quite different though. They're like the opposite in the same spectrum. Lightning is fast, a shock, huge energy at an instant to the contrary of the much more constant, flowing if you will, electricity. LOL, even some anime do seem to get this point, lightning is more of a yellow, whereas electricity is tied to very bright, near white, blue. I expect other elements that are often put under the same banner, to have, likewise, big differences as well.

Actually with Electricity and Lightning, you cant get Lightning without enough electricity being created in the air to get it shooting down to earth its a basic concept I read in science class mabey I should label it as Electrodes (or would it be Electrons? ><) (or just both...)then instead of electricity? so there wont be any more confusion which seems to be happening now lol. (Ill go change that now actually, hell Im half tempted to just call it 'Zappy Stuff' >>)

also I didnt say we gained the ability to control the elements, I just ment that we get a balance with those elements think of it like learning how to swim, at first we dont know how to swim(dont have the tail), but after some practice and getting more familiar with swimming(as the tail grows) we can swim without fear(Tail is fully grown). Thats basicly what I ment by it.

also some things people consider elements arn't elements at all, no offense to those who think so but order and chaos isn't an element, they are actually natural laws or a concept if you will, sorry but you cant carry around a bucket of chaos to give to the people no matter how interesting and hilarious that might sound....*gets ideas* fufufufufu

Well chaos its self it not inherently a sort of energy but a lack of any specific sort ^^;  It is, if you will, dirty energy. So in that sense you can carry a bucket of chaos energy around if you were to say, make some muddy water. ^^ That is a bit of an oversimplification I suppose as chaos is a sub-part to a larger sort of force that pulls things apart to their base nature so that its inverse force can build things from them. yin yang and all that nifty business X3

I just have two tails from what I feel, and the aura that I can see when I look in a mirror.
But that's all I really need, and I can blame my Neko half for the number of my tails.

Chaos has a very life of its own, just as order has.
 
But let's say it like this:
Order and chaos are the most spiritual corners of the elemental spectrum.
They are very nearly abstract, and yet you can create both easily with just a pencil and a piece of paper (or just the pencil in the case of chaos only).
 
I can't say why exactly I'm so adamant of tihs, but that is simply the way it smells to me.
And I've learned to trust my intuition in that regard.
Evans and my adcovate friends have been very patient to teach me about that.

Well, I gave it some thought and came up with this.
 
I agree, order and chaos are more energetic, more "states" than solid elements,
However, the same holds true for some others as well.
Fire, for starters, is simply extremely hot air.
Ice is frozen water.
Wind is air in motion.
Lightning is electrons in wild motion.
Light is a stream of particles or a wave.
And shadow is the lack of light.
 
So, just because something is a state, it doesn't mean it can't be an Iserial element.
At least that is how I view the world.
 
As I said somewhere before: Everyone should probably use the system she/he is most comfortable with.
I chose to create mine from scratch using what felt logical and right to me.

Also... could someone move this discussion into a sperate thread maybe?

Actually I have!!!! I 'LOVE' that manhwa!!! specially since Laon keeps changing from boy to girl depending how many males or females are in the area! XD sadly I havnt read it in a while, updates stopped comming so I decided to stop checking and then check for more updates when I remember it again, I should go do that it has been almost a year hopefully its updated.... I also remember the tails had things for like singing and hide and seek XD though thats not where I got that 'concept' from its actually something I learned from my fox mother, and have known about it way before Laon came out.

well this is all from what I remember of my kitsune mother teaching me and light you cant get (naturally) without fire or some form of 'zappy stuff' XD also if you wanna get into specifics you cant get water without hydrogen and oxygen molicules, but I dont wanna get into the periodic table of elements..........*slams head into table* I walked into that one.... XD course those are 'science' elements.

to me the elements that are listed are more how do you say 'solid' in the element state for me then Ice or Light thats why even though I do consider those elements, I call them sub-elements. oh and speaking of fire, its actually made from friction which causes heat and the oxygen in the air helps support the fire because fire needs oxygen to 'live' but air isnt what 'causes' it otherwise the earth would be a giant flaming ball in outer space, much like our sun, so friction and heat are the cause of it, while air just gives it life, ......damn physics class....

Though if you think about it in a completely basic way, its not water that creates life, its oxygen, cause you cant have water without oxygen 

Still cant see Chaos and Order as elements though.... to me they will always be a law of the universe, a never changing law thats a fact of life and non life. plus if you think about it, you can put out fire, you can dry up water, but you can never get rid of chaos and order. mabey thats why I see them as laws, cause elements they come and go, chaos and order are always there.

and your right everybody should use what they are most comphy with.

I dunno about something that is neither. That would be beyond our understanding.

But to me Dusk and Dawn have a bit of both: the illumination of light, and the mystery of darkness. Twilight.

Actually that should be light and shadow, shadows can only be created when there is light near by so its actually like a sub-element of a sub-element and actually you can have a room without any dark at all even with a person in it (just get a crapload of well placed lights mounted inside the wall) and you can have a room without any light at all. Also you 'can' have something without light just look at the bottom of the ocean, you can probably have something without Darkness as well I just cant think of it right away cause of my pleasantly alcohol educed clear mind...yay....X3 Also you 'can' have something that is neither light and dark that that 'is' shadow which is a sub-sub-element but I just stick it into sub elements cause if you think about it metal is an element but 'steel' is a sub-element.....and Im ganna stop before I ramble again, besides my brain cant handle this complicated conversation at the moment....and anyways its bed time.... I blame the alcohol....it makes me sleepy  love ya guys!  I have the most interesting debates with you all 

oh and before I forget, I actually have had this categorization of the elements for a while now, its actually what helped me remember what my mother taught me (it slowly came back to me while making this categorization) I've been 'writing' a manga called Elementals since I was in 8th grade (used to be elemental angels) but I kept going thru revisions after revisions so its not exactly done yet after my one friend said it reminded her of charlies angels (which Ive never saw or heard of at the time and all because I wouldnt show their 'boss' lol that and it was probably the title too....). So I started over from scratch, and trying to place a 'pure' element and 'sub' element to everyone was hard, cause I was remembering things at that time and it was confusing not only that but it has an elements vs sub elements war thing going on in it and yeah.......'pures' has to fight the many 'subs' that went evil, and there's alot more subs then pures, and I had to make sure you couldnt create another element with another element or something wonky like that and yeah major confusion during that time....gah I need to get back into writing that now....>> anyways picking what for who was a pain in the ass.....nuff said ....>< bed now.
