Hi all. This is my first post in a long while. During my break, I discovered more of myself and became a better person overall. I'm now a senior in high school and am taking Japanese I (it's great). I still feel a connection with this place and I hope to discover more of myself here.

Now, I have a few questions. One is about loyalty and obedience to Inari-sama. The other is about worship to Inari-sama.

First question - How loyal are kitsune? I believe myself vulpine (jury's still out on it, though) and trust me, I'm not a dog, yet I feel a very strong urge to obey and to follow orders from a higher-up (such as Inari-sama). Is this natural? I know kitsune, especially nogitsune, are more self-centered and free. Are myobu much different?

Second question - How, exactly, does one worship and follow Oinari-sama? I want to try to connect and communicate with the honorable kami, but I don't know the first thing about it! :noob:

Thanks in advance. I actually posted this about two weeks ago, but that was when the forum was being updated/changed/whatever, and it fell right through the cracks...   Sad

Afraid i wouldnt know.

Myself im free from such desires in the most part.

I have a deep longing to visit a shinto shrine and pay my respects someday however.

We are fairly loyal, which is why there are so few cases of nogitsune running rampant; they take care of their own and keep themselves rather well in control.  As for US, I dunno how you go about becoming one, I was just born into the familah.

Nogitsune have a strong sense of independence and self reliance.   They will honor loyalty deeply.  But cross them and they will hate you.  As to self-policing, not as much as you think.  Very few nogitsune would form an army, when one makes trouble they typically do it alone.   There isn't as much take care of their own outside of direct family.

I love how NEARLY EVERYTHING YOU SAY is a contradiction to what I say, even when it's something that isn't debatable.

What the heck are you talking about?   Do you know nogitsune enough to say that?

A myobu can comment on a nogitsune, HOWEVER

A myobu can not assume they have full knowledge over nogitsune.

Why ?

Are you a nogitsune kuro? No? Okay then, so do tell me how you might know -everything- about nogitsune. Word of mouth, visual and heared?

Some things are not spoken or performed.

Because a rather well-versed nogitsune, SalemFuchs, taught me quite a few things about them, and he was instructed by Tamamo-no-Mae.  Perhaps you've heard of her?

I can back my claims up by the people I've met and the things I've learned.  What do you have, other than your "I hate Kuro fan club"?

Then do so.  Prove it right now, I don't claim that it's the absolute truth.  You are, I CALL ON you right now to back up what you say about nogitsune.

Again, you can be taught, but you have to be a nogitsune to understand a nogitsune.

And of course i havent heard of them, so for all i know they could be made up ^^

Its like if i was told everything by a myobu, i couldnt still claim to know everything.

No You didn't.  You didn't provide analysis.  You just said this is someone else opinion, it's not a hard fact.   you haven't provided any evidence.

Heck I've never claimed mine to be the this is the way it is.  Your the one doing it.   And merely stating what you said doesn't provide evidence or proof.
