 Huh?
Now that's interesting.
I don't think any story I've heared about Tamamo features her reaching a ten-tail count.

Hmmm, but they could easily get away with it, the trouble of fighting over that would be bad for those that started that.  I would show 10 or more personally.

Okay, let's drop the point of respect and simply go back to the fact that having more than nine is feasibly impossible.

Ok then.   First idea how is it feasibly impossible.

There's no way to accumulate that much power and energy, nor knowledge, nor age.  Gods are timeless, have infinite knowledge, and near infinite power.

Who says we are finite?

To me everyone everywhere has the potential to go farther than anyone else ever has before.  Over and over ad infinitum.

No being is infinite but the Gods.  Sorry.  Shocked  That AND we're currently quite human, so we're DEFINITELY finite.

A very angry and violent reaction, most likely, from many of our kin.  Even if you have the power, knowledge, age to reach 10, you have 9, and if you show more, you're in great peril.  Tamamo-no-mae was rumored to show Her "full" tail count, and look at what happened to Her (though that was the least of the reasons why She met Her unfortunate end.)

So you mean that if a kitsune becomes a 10 tail and shows that to everyone they are searched for and executed? By who? If such a thing is true it means that +9 tails would be forced to live in complete terror, and I for one would not accept such a thing. If you manage to reach 100 tails that is your right imo... sure, it's ugly to wave them around just to say you're smart and godlike but being in danger for it... thats awful and unacceptable fox_okay

No being is infinite but the Gods.  Sorry.  Shocked  That AND we're currently quite human, so we're DEFINITELY finite.

If anyone is going to tell me that my life as a kitsune after this life's over is not going to be infinite then please let me die now Huh?

Did I shock you or something.   We will see, don't limit your own growth by believing you can't get there.  Set your goals way way out there and shoot for them over and over again.

It's dangerous because it's IMPOSSIBLE, and because it's just damn arrogant.  The BIGGEST reason there is the 9-tail cap is because it's impossible to have more.  Secondly, we're talking about creatures powerful enough at 9 tails to create illusions so real that they could consist of a whole WORLD, a set of people, a lifetime, create pocket realms the size of the earth if not bigger, etc.  There's a 9-tail cap to make sure we stay equal with each other once we reach that age of such awesome power.

Hmmm, you sure it can be enforced kuro.   and why do you want to limit how far people can go.  Your the only one doing it to yourself.

Just to clarify your saying because I believe everyone has infinite potential and go grow beyond everything.  That I'm being arrogant?

We can go very far, but we can never go that far, because the Gods are always growing in power at the same rate if not infinitely faster than we are.  We, however, can never reach 10 tails.  Reaching 9 tails is a limit of tails, not a limit of power.  9-tails vary in power greatly depending on how long they've had that tailcount.  The same for 3-tails.  I'm VERY low on that chain.  If I were compared to most cubs, however, I'm much higher on the chain for someone going through their first lifetime.

There is no such thing as time in the end.   We can grow beyond our "parents"

But the thing is, our parents die.  They stop progressing.  As cold as that is to say, it's the truth, and that's why any of us can surpass our fathers and mothers.  The Gods never stop progressing.

Well as I said in another topic, rather that I have 1 or 3 or 9, 100 or 1000 tails it's still alright for me as long as I am a kitsune and will be one forever. 1 is all I need so I won't be an ugly tailess foxy Smiley All I wish is life as a kitsune in infinity, regardless of power. To know I'll live forever and be with those I wish to be with once this life is over.
