I know I had a tail topic about growing more tails by force of will and understanding instead of time or being granted them.  I still think that's possible but I'm going off on a slightly different topic here.

Just to pose a question to get everyone to think.   Lets say you have more tails than are revealed or manifested, what does it take for them to reveal and manifest the rest?

There can only be 9, and the path upward is slow and filled with tests.  All I have to say on the matter.

I have met a girl claiming to have 10, in the past.

She was very interesting.

There is no 10.  At least not visible.  If she shows more than 9, then she's disrespecting the Mother, and I know MANY people who'll be damned to see that.

Then you just implied that there isn't a nine tail cap.

There IS.  Your prowess can build past 9 tails, but you show 9.  It's the way things are.

Well, fox-lore sometimes states that SHE has 10 or 1000 tails.

we didscussed the mother.

We discussed exactly what she implied.

She had 10 tails and stated, first and foremost, that she was not 'the mother' or inari, and then went on into all sorts of things.

It was interesting.

It's not respectful.  It's not my place to say more than that, though.  I just hope she gets wise and stops showing more than 9 before she pisses off the wrong people. -.-

As far as i know, she only went around with 9 except to people she 'trusted' and had discussions with.

Apparetly i was the second person to actually listen to her instead of go into a rant about how sh cant have 10 and blahblahblah :3

To just put in my thoughts on the showing more.   I doubt that they would consider showing more than 9 tails to be disrespectful.   The goal of any parent is to see the child evolve and find what they want.  Any disrespectfulness would come from a cultural bias and would be lacking elsewhere.   Nogitsune might find it irrelevant.

So lets say you had more tails than showed, tails you add from a previous life.   How would you reveal them.

It IS disrespectful.  This isn't something to be doubted.  You can doubt the reasons, but it is FACT, NOT opinion, that a majority of our society find it very offensive to show more.  Even nogitsune feel this way.

 Hyper
Does anyone know what "rebellious truth" means? It's a trait that effectively means one needs to question everything that's stated as a given. Things like "It just IS that way" or "because we always did" will not be accepted. Those afflicted with it will always search for an explanation. I have it as well, so...
 Huh?
With that being explained, I'd really like a full explanation of WHY it would be disrespectful. Of course anyone who's been here for some time knows how little I care about times, but I find the principle of this question very enticing.
 Wink
So, will anyone bother to explain it to me?
