Wow, that was kinda easy, i just figured out how many tails i have, and it was pretty simple to do so too. Being the nice guy I am, i'm gonna let you know how i did it.

Ok, so, pretty easy. First, clear your mind out and relax all your muscles, it doesn't have to be complete, but the more, the better. Then, focus some energy to the base of where your tails would be, and try counting how many times it splits off, flowing into your tails. the clearer your mind and more relaxed you are, the better the accuracy. I found that i have 3 tails using this, and I'm glad for figuring it out n.n

Interesting method kyne, i shall look into it, thanks :)

Ah, flaw.

Your method relies on relaxation.

I am unable to reach a meditative or even vaguely relaxed state.

Kitsunami, could you elaborate? Why can't you? That isn't a healthy thing, imo, maybe we can help.

I was looking up as I was walking home and just realized how... huge everything is, everything but us, we're so small. But yet... I could almost feel it, the spark of life, the thread of fate, a bit of electric sizzle in the stars. I was reminded of death, and thereby of life. I felt alive. I think maybe, if I can just feel that for a moment every now and then, anything else that happens to me is O.K.

That happens to me exactly the same way... no matter how hard I try I cannot relax and can't do anything about it. I can relax my body and enter a state where I feel nice but not enough to get anything like this working.

The problem is that my mind can't be truly empty while it's awake and I constantly think of things especially things that worry me so instead of relaxing I rather end up agitating. I don't necessarily think of anything directly or at the "surface" of my mind but in the back of my mind there's always a bit of a storm. If anyone knows cures though that would be awesome, I'd love to do this to so much...

Well, i stated that relaxing and clearing your mind does help, and the moreso the better. That doesn't mean that it is essntial, it just help a great deal. the more clear my mind and the more relaxed I am, the better I am able to feel my energies flow, and thusly count how they split off. anyone else may be better at feeling out their energies than me, but i find it helps to focus on nothing at all, and just basically tossing my cares and worries aside for the few moments i meditate. If you are good at just focusing and sensing your own energy flow, then do what you find helps you do that best, and then charge the energy there and feel it flow into your tails, counting them as you do so.

As for a cure to mental 'relaxation,' I have ADD, and i've lived with it without ever taking medication for it. I've had some methods of my own that help clear out my mind. I find that trying this after you've done what you need to do or take care of in the day a lot easier, because it takes the worry of the 'to-do' list away, which can be a big one. next, i find a spot where i can be alone and in quiet, or better, just natural sounds. external sounds stimulate the mind if it's something that we might have to worry about, but i find natural sounds a calming or soothing thing. As for areas to relax in, a nice open area, like a clean, secluded area of a park, or your own back yard are good ones if the surrounding energies are clean themselves. another thing that's good is focusing on your element of 'choice.' I find that, being a fire kit, focusing on a small flame helps clear and straighten out my thoughts and energies. I hope that this helps you out.

Why ? i have an overactive imagination. Its a torrent that i have yet to ever, ever have stop.

If i try to relax my mind then goes onto various things like games, or something like zombies or whatever, imagines stuff going on, etc etc etc.

There are ways to meditate for those who can't keep still. Doing rhythmic activities like rocking, pacing, or something with the hands (I personally prefer knitting) is actually "allowed" for use in meditation, and can be very useful in clearing the mind and relaxing. You don't always have to be a stone statue to do this.

The thing about clearing minds is this: it's not really about trying to force all thoughts out (because really, you need those thoughts and impulses to go through to function in the first place), it's about letting them flow through without attaching to them. The thoughts flow through, but you don't focus so hard on them.

Then the thoughts that you need to flow in will flow, instead of being blocked out by other thoughts being focused upon.

My mind is a torrent, raging constantly.
