[Kitsunami]

Well i have skimmed several of the topics and read a lot of posts, but i felt i needed to post my own topic to ask some questions and such things.

i should probably start off where the question comes from.

I have been told by the odd kitsune (or claiming to be kitsune) that i have come across now and then that Inari has messengers, who are white kitsunes, and that they play some role in the courts.

Occasionally i have been referred to as Inari's messenger (For what reason i havent the slightest idea, just being white ?) by the odd 'kitsunes' i have met now and then online, and they were vague in answering why they referred to me as such, with such answers as because im more like an outcast and tend to stay outside of the groups so to speak, or that whenever im seen there is always some sort of change that follows, then i tend to stray away and dissapear again. Which wasnt particularly satisfactory.

So my question would be, what exactly is the role that Inari's messengers play in the courts ? Are they some special group, or just Myobu in general ? And most of all, why do i keep getting referred to as Inari's messenger ?

I have yet to really 'discover' my kitsune self, aside from that i know i am a Kitsune and believe in the existance of the astral realms and so on, it just seems odd that the kitsunes i have come across before this (or claiming to be kitsunes anyway) would refer to me as such. The most i know of myself is presumably my name (I have no explanation as to why i one day started calling myself Kitsunami, it just occured to me as being right.) and my tails.

Well the Myobu work for and follow Inari. Other Kitsune though cannot just tell you what you are and who you follow. Kuro can answer more then I can because lol I am still new to being a Myobu. But one role Myobu do play are Gaurdians and protectors to people around the shrines ect. To me they are like Guardian Angels but not all light and sunshine.

When people look at someone, they see an image.
They try to fit that person into that image, treating it as such.
You can try to fit that image, and be like people want to see you.
Or you can refuse to do so, and form your own image of yourself.
Just because someone would have you be a servant of a goddess does not mean you have to be...
But in the end, the choice is yours.

Ah its not that i want to be what others think of me, more like i wish to understand what it was they thought and decide for myself.

I dont believe i am Inari's messenger however, if i am, i must be doing a terrible job xD

 To start, the Myobu of Kitsune Courts, the Myobu of Human Courts, and the Myobu of Inari's Courts are all different.

 Those 'Myobu from Inari's courts are Ambassadors. They spread the word of Inari, and only have a limmited time here. They haven't been seen in Millenia, but I KNOW they're still there. Those Myobu from Inari's courts are known by a certain 'glowing Hiragana, Katakana or Kanji' Glyph that is set in their fur somewhere on their body. When they arive, it's usually a good idea to let them speak. They don't have much time here.

 Her 'Messengers' are different from the Myobu. They spread the messages given to them Celestially from Inari. They have ALOT more time to do whatever is needed. They are also marked with a similar glowing written glyph somewhere on their body to mark them as 'Inari's', and not to be toyed with. Alot of the time, this class includes 'Otsukai', the Messagers of both Her good will, and Her wrath. Otsukai also have the strange glowing marks.

 All of these marks glow -only- when they are doing the work of Inari. Otherwise, they lay dormant inside.

 How do I know? ... well, if you've already figured it out, then I won't have to say so. Myobu and Messangers are not born. They are made, and chosen by the 'Greater Kami'. It's not a birthright. It's earned the hard way.

 The Myobu from both the Kitsune Courts and Imperial Human Courts are all Emissaries. They do the work of the 'mortal' courts. To the Otaku and other high officials, they are well known as dignitaries, and are to be respected, but not 'revered'.

 To be honest, I'm sick of hearing from these lesser Myobu about how they have to grind and toil away at the jobs they were given. They need to shut up and take pride in their work. It's not a wonder to me why they aren't chosen to do Inari's actual work. It's proof of why they aren't.

 As for Nogitsune? Remember, we're all spirits, and can sense each other. Nogitsune don't have the 'glow' that Shinto Inarists do. This is primarily how other Nogitsune are known. They don't have the 'faith'. That's pretty much the badges we all wear at some point in time. you may not be able to see them every time, but you can feel them all the time.
