Well, first off, if any of you guys have hung out on the werelist, otherkin phenomena, magicka school, or wildspeak forums, then you'll know me as WhiteFox already. I just noticed that there were already some "colorfox" names here, so I felt like doing something new.

For those that don't know me, howdy. Far as reality goes, I'm just a student living in Chicago majoring in zoology (and minoring in cultural anthropology, and unofficially studying "shamanism"/foxlore/divination as well) right now. Nothing too special. Spiritual-wise, I've been aware of my therioside (or otherkin-side I suppose) since I was 7, but haven't actually learned much until the past couple of years. I am a sort of kitsune, but as far as the details go I'm not too sure of much. I can barely remember what I just ate let alone any past lives, and my "shamanic" skills are pretty much in the dirt buried 6 feet under. So no solid introspection yet outside of a few glimpses.

From what little I do know, I seem to have been of a white color with 5 tails (why, I do not know, but it sure fits pretty nicely) living in snow-capped mountains. So from a biological standpoint the white color makes sense. I don't know if the form was physical or spiritual, and I am not aware of any deity connection right now, past or present. Recent situations seem to point to the Queen Mother of the West (an ancient chinese deity), and I do feel more with Chinese foxlore than Japanese, so I call myself a hu xian for now (not to mention the, no offense, american anime-rape of the term "kitsune" makes me avoid it, since I'm the farthest thing from an RP person there is).

That's all I got off the top of my head right now. Feel free to ask any further questions. I hope to find some interesting conversations here, since I love to talk about the symbolism in the stories.

Yes, unfortunately our culture is starting to catch wind of the "cool factor" involved with Kitsune. Good to see someone with more of a Chinese focus around. Good to meet you.


...You're lucky I didn't use the name "moonlightfox" here like I do on most other places, lol

I was looking up as I was walking home and just realized how... huge everything is, everything but us, we're so small. But yet... I could almost feel it, the spark of life, the thread of fate, a bit of electric sizzle in the stars. I was reminded of death, and thereby of life. I felt alive. I think maybe, if I can just feel that for a moment every now and then, anything else that happens to me is O.K.

So anyhow, welcome aboard. Not all here a strictly kitsune, so I just mostely use the term fox instead (seeings as it's theoretically the same anyway).

Yes, perhaps we should!

In all honestly though, I would just like to discuss the stories and myths in foxlore here. I'm the only active fox spirit on all those other forums, so it gets a bit lonely not being able to talk about all that good stuff. I enjoy studying the symbolism and hidden meanings under all that literary goodness, and it'd be nice to be on a forum that actually understands what I'm talking about.

well there are other discussions besides role play that go on over there but this is the main forum for Kitsune for non RP. So ya. Me I am not into RP much myself only once in a great while I'll RP for entertainment.

Either one I don't care for. I only mentioned gaming because that seems to be where most get that idea from.

I don't really RP often though I was interested in trying it out more. RP can be really good as long as you never ever confuse it with reality (especially with anything spiritual).

Anyway welcome Moon. Hope you like it here, feel at home and all else :)
