I saw this posted on a therian forum and decided to check this out. My initial reaction was a big fat "huh?" on the whole clan bit in the homepage, but some of the topics here look serious enough, and I do like to talk about the symbolism in the stories.

My questions are these: Is all fox-related content here Japan only? What is this "shiiba clan" that's posted on the homepage?

Hello there kay :) Yeah I wouldn't want you to understand the clan thing wrongly or anything. The clan here is more like a family that some kitsune are part of, spiritually and online too. Not sure how to give a better description now but I hope that didn't scare you off or make you get a bad idea. And the topics here are indeed wrote openly and honestly so there's nothing to worry about on this side either.

Otherwise we do believe most of whats kitsune related comes from Japan, so we might discuss Japan related things a lot but not everything. Most of us don't even know the tiniest thing in japanese nor are from that area ourselves. Kitsune obviously exist in other sides of the world too so yeah, not always and everything.

What? No Chinese foxlore?

And they're the originals too (those poor hu).

All kidding aside, I just wanted to make sure on that before I go posting anything that's from Northern China. I identify more with the hu xian that are there, and the other fox-related deities, rather than Inari and the kitsune.

Some can be chinese too, I actually remember now I have also heard about chinese folklore related to kitsune. But either way it's really ok to discuss about any culture and anything related to kitsune from other cultures so don't worry about that.

The Shiiba clan are the resident Myobu who reside on the boards; myself, Alynna, Samui, Taoki, and others.

I was under the impression Kitsuhana meant "fox-home". That basically sums it up.

While you'll find people mostly just familiar with Japanese foxlore and culture like myself, we've also got members who know other legends and regional fox-spirits and lots of wisdom of a general spiritual nature.

It's quiet most of the time, but if you ask a juicy question we'll be all over it like white on rice :3

I was looking up as I was walking home and just realized how... huge everything is, everything but us, we're so small. But yet... I could almost feel it, the spark of life, the thread of fate, a bit of electric sizzle in the stars. I was reminded of death, and thereby of life. I felt alive. I think maybe, if I can just feel that for a moment every now and then, anything else that happens to me is O.K.
