I am not very good at introducing myself, so here we go.
-.-

I love linguistics and I have studied a great many languages and topics in great detail, I would consider myself a lifelong scholar of everything. I am currently on chapter 5 of the Kitsuné PDF book.

My ultimate dream / fantasy is to bring all of the people / beings of the world together in unselfish harmony. I know logically that this is very unrealistic (read impossible) but it sure would be nice!
 ^_^

Anyway if you want to ask any questions please do! I sure can ramble on eh?

Hello there. Actually, as I post, I just greeted you in the chat.

Certainly kitsune have a wide array of colors - but you are the first green one I have heard of, quite interesting. And, truthfully I don't know how accurate the 13-element system is, however the connection with the ocean makes me imagine you as a coastal fox. ^_^ I mean, not just in the fact that you've been out on the open ocean either.

Linguistics is indeed quite interesting, though I'm only a fluent speaker of English and don't know much of any other languages.

How'd you find Kitsuhana, anyway? Through Kitsune Paradise (like me)?

However, I will try to sound decently intelligent and to not pull stuff out of thin air. Do you care? Probably not, but sometimes I like disclaiming myself, even if it's unneccessary. I also like to ramble on about things a lot.[/size]

This is actually the first serious Kitsuné related page I have been to. It was quite accidental that I even found this site, I was looking up Kitsuné two nights ago (after seeing the dead fox) and I ran across it. Most of the sites on Kitsuné were roleplaying or anime based. Not that I have a problem with those forms of entertainment, they were just not what I was searching for.

Once this forum opened up I knew my search was over and I did not need to look any further. I was amazed that a forum for the serious discussion of spiritual Kitsuné / kin based matters actually exists, and not only exists but is active!

Excuse Salem for some things he said matoa... he does that sometimes, despite all the requests made to him to stop doing that to new members. He was mostly just joking so yeah don't get upset over what he says :)

I am not upset Taoki, and thank you for your concern. I understand why Salem behaves the way he does, and I do not take it personally. I don't agree with his methods (or madness some may call it), but I also realize he has a place in this world as well.

The world would be a boring place if we were all perfect.

Nice to meet you Matoa! I've seen you on the IRC often so I figured I'd give you an "official" welcome to the forums!

Now, on to business. Poor Salem...

I think your loosing your "touch" Salem, you didn't even phase him. Nice to see that Matoa can take it and throw some back, a lot of people would freak out. I for one hope he sticks around.

Read my posts, I mention several places you can try rather than here.

Please provide the URL for the relevant post(s) I don't think anyone would go through all of your posts (which are nearing 200 at this point) to find that kind of information.

Of course if they did, they'd figure out out other things about you too.

So if you wouldn't mind, I know several of us would appreciate a link rather than a non-specific statement.

Quote from: "SalemFuchs"
And yes, a news article and a book is much different than an Internet forum. How? Credentials. Those who write the books and articles have to present citations/sources for all their information. On a forum, any idiot 14 year old with a 56 kbps AOL connection can post something on some forum like this. If you actually believe the crap people spew in forums, I feel sorry for you.

Credentials... please... by your logic any blog or web posting by any random person would be "un-authoritative". I happen to take peoples words a little more seriously since they a unusually based on some truth.  Not everyone lies about everything or has to quote verbatim some obscure "source" that may or may not be verifiable.

The only people I would consider to require that kind of scrutiny would of course be scientists, doctors, mathematicians, chemists, etc. not some underage kids on a forum talking about a spiritual matter or their experiences.

I would believe the common man/woman more than any politician because they're less likely to be influenced by masses of other people. However, that being said it brings up that the odd argument "What is truth." (because people are influenced too) so I have to leave it at that because it diverges into the fallacy of "Absolute Relativism".

Salem, your not going to make this site any more "Authoritative", by calling Bullshit on everything you see that doesn't make sense to you or isn't quoted by some source that YOU consider "Authoritative". Sorry... it's not going to happen, get over it please.

However, because of the free-form nature of the internet, no one source or blog or site can be claimed as "authoritative" because there is a million sites out there with the same information, declaring their authoritative status. It is up to the individual to determine for THEMSELVES, what they believe.

If they believe that this site is MORE relevant to their needs than others, great. If they consider this place to have more "Credentials" than others, fantastic. Let them run around the site and see what it has to offer. If it works for them, they'll figure it out, if not, they're gonna figure it out. Let them decide for themselves whether this site is full of bullshit or not.

But... calling someones experience or beliefs bullshit, is out of line.

I happen to believe in the Eternal Soul, whether YOU think it is bullshit is irrelevant at best, and at worst a gross (and illogical) attack against my (and others) beliefs.

 Have a nice day. ^_^

Copy pasta can be very tasty. However it would be nice if you could write three posts and at least say something new. The purpose of a forum to share thoughts, knowledge and opinions after all. And I know you have those.

Hello matoa! Welcome! I LOL'd at the quiz thing, neat link. Say's I'm non-psychopath with "criminal leanings," heh.

I would add that in our modern society we are all forced to become moderately psychopathic. We are expected to lie. We are expected to fake our emotions and manipulate others to get our way. we are expected and encouraged to want to be first and nothing else. And not to mention that psychopathy as a whole is based on an outdated and contrived definition of norms and mores dictated by a mix of judeo-christian dogma and neo-liberal political correctness. Our legal system has to protect the children from video games and music our parents or the church dislikes, but they are allowed to be driven to suicide by social pressure. If they don't comply and follow the social structure, the people who should support them instead treat them like delinquents. And if they attempt to stand up to their peer opressors, through equal measure of abuse and violence or through diplomatic means, they are treated like traitors, and must not only fear retribution from their enemies but from their loved ones and the legal system as well. They are forced to deal with the situation, but they are not allowed, and are not helped. Fifty years ago it was understood that young men got in fights. Now one high school student can walk up to another and start assaulting him, and if the other student so much as pushes the attacker away he is treated EXACTLY the same as the attacker by the law.

I would say that the majority of such labels are not validly applied- they are not "diseased", they just refuse to recognize the principles society forces on them.

I was looking up as I was walking home and just realized how... huge everything is, everything but us, we're so small. But yet... I could almost feel it, the spark of life, the thread of fate, a bit of electric sizzle in the stars. I was reminded of death, and thereby of life. I felt alive. I think maybe, if I can just feel that for a moment every now and then, anything else that happens to me is O.K.

Nice to meet you Seeker.

It is amazing how many things are considered normal, we are even taught to lie as small children. (Did you REALLY want that sweater for a present?
 Sad

After that I vowed not to kill anything just because. It has to actually be bothering me, threatening me or inside my home before I will kill it.

Not only that but if one is of another race it is a HATE crime, if one is another gender it can be considered sexual assault! And if one ever played violent video games the games are obviously the cause of the violent, hateful and sexual assault!
