That, my friend, would be why the veil is dropping.  A bit more balance needs to be made, and things'll definitely get more chaotic once people learn how to use energy.

The veil as in the barrier between this world and the astral? You think the excessive order on this world is bringing it down? I think I can very well agree with that, in case another spirit watches what happens here and does things accordingly. *nods* in that case disregard my last post, I say leave the laws the way they are... for now. Cuz if this helps in 2012 for what is supposed to happen to actually do happen then all is good. Hope you won't mind I say this, because yes, many kitsune such as myself want the veil down so they can use magic again, shapeshift, and all the wonderful things which can be done.

I don't put much stock in 2012.
And I highly doubt a 'spirit' is watching this world and acting accordingly.  Order and Chaos both cause destruction of their own accord.  Too much order and the oppressed rebel, destroying the order with pure Chaos.  Too much chaos and men step up to take control, destroying the chaos with order.  It is a natural flow, which requires no outside intervention in any way.

Sometimes I fear 2012 may not happen which is why I'm afraid to put my hopes in it entirely. And when I said some other spirit watching I meant anyone (be him/her a god/goddess, a spirit part of a council or court, or anyone out there) who is watching us and telling what happens to the gods or watching us and changing things accordingly to help though indeed the world doesn't necessarily have to have someone like that. I think every world normally has someone watching and taking measures to a point however, though this world isn't as normal as it should any more so it wouldn't surprise me if it's abandoned of anyone doing anything from the outside.

if there is a guardian spirit of sorts for this world, they are adhering to an absentee landlord policy. i.e. no direct interference, allowing things to go about their natural cycle.
