Azn That's it exactly. I'm so used to my tail being there that I just... don't think about it. I go to sit and I move it without thinking, I'm happy and it swishes slightly without my thinking. If I pay too much attention to it, it sorta sits there with this slight curl as if it stopped moving in the middle of doing something.

I often times go long periods of my life maintaining a fairly mundane viewpoint, devoid of mysticism. In this frame of mind it is very unusual to pay notice to one's tails. At least so I find. When I am in other states of awareness in which they become noticeable I have not felt them as pain or heat. To me its more like when you suspend your leg in midair. I can feel they're there, but I haven't had a problem with them bumping into things. I'll get a mental image of them and feel their general positions and proportions, just like when I bother paying attention to my legs. As far as I can tell they are able to pass right through physical objects but it is preferred that such obstructions be reduced in prevalence. In other words, when I'm noticing them I tend to sit differently if at all. It's easier not to think about them. I even go so far as to deliberately turn off my awareness.

I find that those who are spiritually hyper-active tend to get involved in more dangerous and dramatic circumstances. Especially at a younger age. Meanwhile those who live more hypo- get to dodge the seriously scary sh*t. This has been one of my motivating factors in choosing to keep oneself fairly 'numb' and 'low-key' in regard to the supernatural. I don't wish to make a scene or draw the attention of undesirables. Think of it like 'urban camouflage'. It's gotten my by for now but I do suspect there are better ways.
