Well, I like spicy flavor, not straight up spicy for the sake of heat... But everyone's an individual! Foxes are omnivores, after all, and I happen to love veggies more than any amount of chicken or teriyaki marinated thick cut rare steak... *drools on self* I love spinach, mushrooms, and all sorts of squash, and when I discovered there was such thing as pumpkin soup I just about died of joy.

Let's see, where to begin. I don't like spicy foods, the only thing that I like that is spicy is Thai Peanut noodles. They are spicy but sweet at the same time. I usually like adding a bit of Peanut butter to it as well, it give it a nice texture.

As for other spices, I like to have food that has flavor to it, Bland food is just meh. Sadly no one in my family really knows how to 'cook' anything :/. I do enjoy a lot of seasonings like Garlic salt and even Onion salt in my food, they go great with potatoes Wink.

Speaking of Potatoes, I tend to like them a lot and would prefer to have them with almost every meal >>.

Other things I enjoy is Mint. That is something I have on me at all times ^^>. I also have a bit of a sweet tooth, so I do enjoy a lot of Sugary snacks and suck.

Something else I also enjoy is when I have something to drink like Tea or something It has to have a strong flavor. Usually a strong Sweet flavor but still I like strong drinks Wink.

Azn Hey, I actually agree with a lot of that! Garlic and onion salts are an amazing delicious addition to most meals; if you're adding salt already, why not have it flavored? And potatoes are so amazingly versatile, you can do everything with them. Garlic potatoes as a side dish, loaded potatoes as dinner, potato skins as an appetizer, potato bread, potato cakes... I always chalked my love of potatoes up to my odd and mangled DNA that has a bit of everything in it. My two favorite soups are tomato and potato.

Oh, and mint... I love mint tea, it makes me feel all warm and refreshed at the same time; and mint hot chocolate is my favorite this time of year! Then again, it's hard to say what I love the most, because pumpkin spice flavored things are amazing, too...

I have to wonder, though. Traditionally speaking, kitsune are known to love fried foods. If you look at the list of food with kitsune in the name because we're supposed to like it, almost all of it is fried. Aaburage, fried tofu. Inari-zushi, aaburage stuffed with rice. Kitsune udon, udon with aaburage floating in it... <.< Okay, maybe we just like aaburage... Though I heard mention of lemon flavored onigiri before.

I like some spicy stuff too!  Especially spicy salsa and Kung Pao Chicken.  Spicy was an accquired taste, and I actually got into it through those two foods, especially kung pao chicken. XD  And spicy tuna for sushi!  AH I love sushi, haven't had in so long! XD

If you can't tell, I love Chinese and Japanese food the most XD  Actually, I really don't like cooking very much, and I enjoy fast food and restaurants WAY more than I should. ;;;;^_^  Yeah, I'm definitely an urbanized foxie that eats unhealthy stuff.

One of these days I must have a good recipe for Kitsune Udon/Ramen. XD  The closest I had to it was once I had a Japanese food market nearby that had a "Top Ramen" version of kitsune udon (as in, it was a udon cake that you boiled in water, then put in seasoning and dried aburaage) and it was... meh.  The aburaage was kinda tough, and I grew to dislike it.  But I want to try REAL kitsune udon someday!  And inarizushi. Every time I go to a sushi place I always want my spicy tuna and salmon sushi, and I always want to try inari zushi but don't geat around to it. XD

Azn Oh! How about inari-zushi? Has anyone ever tried it? I love sushi to death and I discovered it was on the menu. I remember being kind of scared to try it, because I was scared I wouldn't like it, and it's talked up all over kitsune lore as being their favorite food, but it's... delicious. All sweet and tangy, chewy and kind of soft... They're like little pillows of love.

I tried to make it once. But then I realised I wouldn't be happy unless I did it properly, and doing it properly from scratch(the only option since I live in the middle of nowhere) would take me like six hours. Someday if I visit a large city and remember it I'll have to try it.

As far as my own creations, cumin and garlic. On nearly everything. Ginger and cinnamon and umami whenever I can get away with using them. Humble but powerful spices that can make nearly any bland item become awesome. And, of course, love. The more you dote over it the better it tastes :3

I was looking up as I was walking home and just realized how... huge everything is, everything but us, we're so small. But yet... I could almost feel it, the spark of life, the thread of fate, a bit of electric sizzle in the stars. I was reminded of death, and thereby of life. I felt alive. I think maybe, if I can just feel that for a moment every now and then, anything else that happens to me is O.K.

Chicken, marinaded, chopped up with some Spinach and mushrooms, and added to egg noodles. Best. Thing. Ever.  :D
Has to be cooked with care though, that's why I cook it myself. I love food  :P

I also have a soft spot for sweet Mochi. Give me sweet mochi, and I will be a friend for life.

Inari-zushi is the greatest food item ever! I tried Mochi in Japan, (At least I think it was Mochi, little balls of white pasty stuff) and I found it to have a rather revolting texture.

Authentic Japanese Kitsuné Udon was also a very happy favorite!

If anyone feels like cooking, I may have to visit. Food is one of the few things that will lure me out of the den.

Forgot about that. I'm trying Inari-zushi soon, I've got all of the ingredients waiting but I hate cooking with other people around, so I have to wait until everyone is out. It's torture seeing all of the ingredients there and no food D:

Too much spice with my food ruins it for me.

Sweetness can never be enough, however.

According to these food channel shows I've been watching lately, Japan tends to like things with a slimy, seaweedy texture, the way Americans love crunchy fried stuff.

One of these days I have to get over my laziness and make the inarizushi like I wanted to like a year ago. Make the rice, take the tofu and prep, slice, fry, blanch, split, stuff. It sounds so simple, in theory.
