I thought maybe it would be best to post here first, since I'm questioning what is really going on (and I don't want to join until I feel certain of the situation), but...I think I may be possessed by a nogitsune, or something similar.

I am kin myself, though I am still awakening and learning more about this part of me (I have discovered so far that I have a draconic part and an elven part within my soul, to what extent however is still unknown to me).  I am certain that this entity is definitely not a part of me...it feels alien, like it doesn't belong, unlike the elf and dragon parts, which feel like me.  After some of my own research into this problem, it seems more and more like it could be a nogitsune, or something that seems to be in the guise of one.

I'm open to suggestions that it may be just a new part of me that I don't fully understand yet, or something else entirely, but it feels like a possession to me...sometimes, I do things I know I don't want to do, but feel forced to do so (such as feeding upon the energies of my loved ones, which seems to be coming from this).  

I don't know much about this kitsune-ness so far other than it appears to have 3 tails and is very dark red, it began appearing a few weeks ago, when I was very weak emotionally and spiritually.  It drives me to feed on others and be deceptive when I feel emotionally weak, though lately I've taken to isolating myself to keep from doing it, since I hate doing it so much...I want to stop it, but I don't know how. I really can't stand it because it seems to take so much joy from using people, and I can't let this entity do this stuff to my friends and loved ones any longer.  I see the kitsune in my dreams and I can feel their anger with me for depriving them of energy.

Is this really happening, or do I have some sort of kitsune otherness in me?  Or is it something else?  I understand that this all probably sounds really crazy, so I'll do the best I can to help with clarifying what I'm talking about, if anyone needs me to.  I'm still trying to understand all this myself...any ideas, suggestions, etc. are appreciated deeply...thank you.

I may not be a moderator, or really anybody important in this community, but, I would not doubt that you would be welcome here.
I hope you will able to solve your problems with the malevolent entity, whether it be nogitsune or not. Personally, to me, it doesn't seem like it is part of you. It's possible that it may have just ran across you and decided to "have some fun" in its own way, with you.
(Please bear in mind that I am by no means experienced in this subject, but am happy to give advice where I can.)

The small research I've done has some things that... well, might help.

As in... I know personally I want to learn to make Asian types of dinners and such... I want a tofu press to make fresh tofu, as I believe I did like the small tofu I've had. And... the research I've done suggests kitsune love Asian style foods.

What my reasoning is that you should at least try some... if it's a possession try to do it with the intent of trying to come to terms with the other spirit... an agreement of sorts. You try to accommodate it... the spirit minds its manners.

If indeed it's you though... well, you'll possibly have a good meal and such... personally I wanted to get a hold of the knowledge of making such foods because I have a feeling it could potentially lead to learning more about myself... I'm not sure.
(I'll have my Canadian friend suffer through learning with me... haha... )

Individuals are "Multi-Faceted" were like onions, with layers and layers of personality, emotion, various intelligences, bias, past experience and other things like that.

I personally believe that "after market" possessions are relatively rare. It may be a part of you thats always been there that you haven't really seen before, at least not with any significant clarity until now.

Like me, I knew I was a Fox before I knew I was also Furry, and upon further reflection and reading here it turns out that I also share a staggering number of traits with Kitsune (I also happen to LOVE Asian food *drools*).

So it is entirely possible, because individuals are complex that it is a part of you, if your young (Early 20's and younger) there is still part of your personality that might need to be discovered or worked on even. I'm in my Mid 20's and I'm still figuring out stuff about me that I haven't noticed before. The revelations are becoming far and few between but they still happen, and it may be entirely possible that this happens throughout life. (I'm not old enough to know for sure yet.)

So take it with a grain of salt, search your feelings and see if any particular event in your life that could have triggered this, it could be anything from another birthday, a realization, an argument etc.

So keep thinking.

It is a possibility.  Though I'm glad I feel welcome here, I was a bit worried at first...I didn't want to offend anyone with my feelings about what is happening to me and such.

I do enjoy asian food, the spicier the better.  I rarely get to eat it though, the only things we really have here are, of course, Chinese restaurants.  I'd love to go to a Thai or Japanese place again, and try Korean food as well, but those types of places are a bit too far to go to without planning.

I figured that posessions were rare, the info I could find on them as far modern ones go was very minimal.  I figured it might be a possibility though, since the kitsune feels so alien to me, though that could be a side effect of being aware of it so suddenly.  And as far as triggers go, the one thing that sticks out in my head as a possibility is being betrayed horribly by the one person I thought I could trust.  That caused a lot of changes in me: I feel cold towards others who have hurt me when previously, I was very forgiving, and as much as I want to trust others, I now find it difficult.  Given the appearant nature of the kitsune I am dealing with, it could be connected.  I am in my early 20s myself, and you're right--I'm also still figuring myself out.

I think I will register here, though I'll take a username that is more representative of this kitsune.  I'll need to think on what exactly that should be though.  I feel almost like I need to be here, if that makes any sense...

Yeah there are many cases of possession very often, some of them good which some should be so happy about... or some of them bad which make your life a living nightmare.
