Been thinking about deviantart group or something (never registered on DA so I dunno if there are groups there or anything), or maybe making another page from http://www.kitsuhana.org (something like art.kitsuhana.org) with a php gallery. Any of the two ideas would be easy I guess, though I prefer the 2nd one so the board would be on Samui's server, not external.

I feel a deviantart group would attract posers and trolls like no tomorrow. There ARE otherkin groups there, yes, but...I try not to limit any possible mixings of my interactions with the anime fandom and the otherkin community.
Especially when you're dealing with places where everyone seems to have to have a "something something demon" character after watching the English version of Inuyasha (and if not, some sort of vampire), or who don't know kitsune beyond Naruto's Kyuubi no Youko, etc.

And on the gallery, I only want that in if a board itself is. Some of us might want to show off art that means a lot to us but isn't spiritual, and the gallery itself should probably only be limited to spiritual things it's made.

I agree with Aine that there are alot of goofy WAAAnime fans that say they're something out of Inuyasha on there. There are also social furs- they talk just exactly like the "real" furries(who truly believe in it) but really they just go to con's every now and then because it's fun. and then there are theones with profiles that make you go "Hmmm... no." It makes it impossible to discern who's real, and who's not. I think the nature of this community requires it to be both open to the public, but protected. The forum seems to work well- it allows the community to examine the beliefs and statements of a user and decide their sincerity very effectively.

Plus they're corporate- they push paid subscriptions and cripple features, they've got ads, and in order to post you have to agree to a contract that lets them do WETF they want with everything you upload. This is not OK.

Taoki's other idea is good. art.kitsuhana.com. It would allow accounts on the forums to be linked to the uploads, but still let passers-by have a peek. There definitely needs to be an option for uploaders to restrict acess, for example, to only users of the forum, or certain users they trust.

I think it would be better simply as a side forum on this site.  Easier to do, and less likely to become another dead abandoned project like the others have been.

Yeah... never registered or been much around DA like I said, but I agree such a place can attract many posers and it wouldn't be worth it. I have a php gallery here on my computer also (not sure if I noted the link somewhere), there are some freeware ones out there that you can just download and use. Would be interesting to try..

I think thats a great idea, good thinking Taoki! A gallery would be so much easier to navigate. Also, I think it would have to have a caption you could write, because if it's spiritual only, some spirituality might not be noticable out of context.

I think this is a good and useful board to have now, even as a subforum and not a php gallery system (though I think a gallery addon would be better arranged and easier to use). As for me I'm just now learning to draw furry artwork and have learned to draw a reasonably good linework for the head to draw foxies ^^ I shall make a topic there as well when I'll learn to draw better

I remember one time a long time ago I used to be decent at abstract with sharpies... I had pages and pages of such doodles in a notebook. I only remember one that might have been relevant, a green fox jumping, its nose pointing to a star... sadly the notebook is long gone, left at some foster home more than likely. I never really learned to draw, maybe I should pick it up again.

Kuro, we're trying to forget that topic. It would be very appreciated if you could please help instead of keeping this drama alive... it really doesn't help anyone.

It helps me to illustrate how ridiculous it is that we can't talk about mature topics.  Art is a mature topic.  So no art board.

This is why we can't have nice things.

And nearly all topics end up failing on this board.  We can't handle mature topics, so no art board, because art is DEFINITELY too mature for us.
